Eggedal Sauna is idyllically located on Kvennaberga by Saghølen Badeplass. Here you can enjoy a relaxing moment in the sauna with a view of nature, mountains and river.

The sauna has a large window facing the river and you are sheltered until you treat yourself to a warm experience in this wood-fired self-service sauna. Eggedal Badstue warmly welcomes you to the only sauna of its kind in Eggedal. We hope residents, cabin owners, tourists and people from near and far will have a few relaxing hours in this glory.

The sauna is self-service and our vision is that we will jointly keep it tidy and nice. We therefore want all users to clean up after themselves and fill up the internal firewood basket when you leave. Then it will be both cozy and easy for whoever comes after you to enjoy their time in the sauna.

Drop in koster 179,- kr per person og det blir en hyggelig økt i badstuen med kjente og ukjente. Det er plass til 8 personer ved Drop in. Vi gjør oppmerksom på at man da sitter tett. Vår anbefaling for en hyggelig opplevelse er 6 personer med mindre man er i familie eller godt kjent.

Private costs NOK 1125 and you have the sauna to yourself or with your private party of up to 8 people. Here you can invite family and friends according to your wishes.

Your own event – ta kontakt med oss dersom du har ønsker for ditt eget arrangement. Det kan være seg at du ønsker at ditt selskap skal ha badstuen tilgjengelig over flere tidsluker, for eksempel fra kl 14-20. Da ordner vi selvfølgelig et spesialtilbud som møter dine behov.

This is how you do it

1. Choose a time that suits you and pay with Vipps, Visa or Mastercard.

2. Når du har booket får du en SMS/epost som inneholder en tallkode. Denne koden taster du inn på hengelåsen på døren til badstuen. Koden er unik og fungerer for tidsrommet du har booket. Badstuen har smartlås – og vi har gjort det slik at dersom ingen har booket økten før deg får du automatisk tilgang minst 30 minutter før for å fyre opp og gjøre ting klart. Dette for at du skal kunne nyte dine timer der til det fulle.

3. Light the fire in the sauna. It takes about 20-40 minutes to get the sauna really hot. In winter, this takes a little longer. This depends a bit on the outside temperature. The sauna has a large, almost oversized, stove and there is plenty of room for firewood in the stove room. Firewood is available in and by the sauna. You will also find firelighters/lighting bags and matches there. 

Safety: Emptying ashes from the furnace room must be done when the ashes are cold to avoid a fire in the sauna and/or the surrounding areas. Therefore, check whether there is a need to empty before lighting the fire. Ash shovel and bucket can be found in the sauna. There is also an ash tray under the oven door which can be pulled out and emptied. In this way, we ensure safety and help each other with proper sauna operation.

Fyringstips: Ovnsdøren åpnes ved å løfte døren litt opp før du svinger den ut. Finn frem tynne og lette vedkubber først – de er lettest å antenne. La de tynne kubbene ta godt fyr og deretter fyller du på med ved så det tar godt i gang. Erfaring viser at litt hard fyring i starten tar temperaturen raskere opp. Sett askeskuffen og/eller ovnsdøren litt på gløtt for å få godt lufting i starten.

Du må være 18 år eller mer for å booke. Det er tillat for barn i følge med voksen å bruke badstuen. Den voksne tilstede i badstuen bærer fullt ansvar for barn ved bruk. Oven blir skikkelig varm og brannskader må får en hver pris unngås på både barn og voksne. Badstuen brukes på eget ansvar.

In and near the sauna you will find:

• Firewood and kindling agents
• Feel free to provide yourself with scented oils to use in the water you pour on the stove
• Changing room and sauna room
• Some lighting
• Fire extinguisher
• There is no toilet or shower connected to the sauna

Remember to bring with you:

• Drinking water
• Water for the stove if the river is frozen
• 2 towels, one to sit on and one to dry yourself with
• Headlamp/flashlight

Alcohol is allowed, but limit this to a couple of units. Red wine is not allowed as it leaves ugly marks in the sauna. All use of the sauna is at your own risk. We want everyone to leave the sauna in a clean and tidy condition so that it will be just as pleasant for those who come after you.
