Inside the fortress area itself is one of Norway's most exciting and unique function rooms.

The royal halls, as with their vaults, date back to the 17th century.
The royal halls were built over a 20-year period, and were completed in 1669.
They were once used as a base for soldiers and as many as 450 men are said to have been housed in the three vaults.

The royal halls were restored in 1989 and taken into use as a function room two years later. It is a pleasure for us to run a restaurant business in these premises, which our guests also greatly appreciate. Kongshallene is the place for the big events and has with its special evenings been recognized far beyond Halden's borders.

Consists of two parts

Kongshallene consists of two halls with room for 40 and 90 people respectively.

With corona restrictions, we use both halls so that there is distance and infection control is maintained.

Our staff ensures that infection control rules are observed and that there is no danger of infection.

Fits 

We arrange weddings, confirmations, anniversaries, summer parties and Christmas events.
Business lunch / dinner, courses and conferences.

We accept pensioner groups, associations and teams for easier dining all year round.

Minimum order

There is only a minimum order of 10 dishes to rent the room, it corresponds to about 4000kr. Menu is at the bottom as an attachment on the page here.

We have 20 free parking at the back of the fortress.
