At Haldenvassdraget's Canal Museum, we rent out canoes for rent for those who want to get on the water for a few hours. Ørje elva is one of the most exciting places in the Halden Canal as the canal here is narrow and you get a feeling of being far away from civilization. There are also two gap huts adjacent to the Ørje river.
In the Halden Canal, you can embark on an exciting paddle trip between locks and veteran boats while you are in the middle of lush nature with many animals and birds. If you start at the museum, you can paddle south through Ørjeelva, so that you come out into Lifjorden, then Øymarksjøen. Alternatively, you can lock up to Rødenessjøen and spend the day there.
Here you have a small description of what a trip in the canal can look like from north to south.
